19 of Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been achieved on hard surfaces

A revitalized Medvedev won his maiden title for over two years with victory over Corentin Moutet in the competition title decider.

The Russian, a ex- top-ranked player, has had a difficult year, managing just a single victory at the Grand Slams and undergoing a difficult moment at the US Open.

The player's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and issues with his serving in especial - caused him exiting of the world's top 10 and ultimately parting ways with former mentor Cervara.

Presently working with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, he has steadily advanced in the last few weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over Frenchman Moutet.

This represents Medvedev's maiden title after the Italian tournament and initial on a hard surface since March of 2023.

Victory also signifies he has secured 21 championships at 21 distinct tournaments.

"For the first time I'm at a tournament with my two daughters together, so to win a championship is really nice," commented tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This victory is in dedication of my younger daughter her name, because the initial championship I got when my older daughter Alisa was born was for her."

Medvedev, the past champion, had failed in his last six championship matches, comprising in that event earlier this year.

His retrieving approach and recurring reactions on court had prompted observers to wonder if his capacity to perform at the top level was concluded.

However the 29-year-old has altered his approach in the past month, attempting to advance forward and perform aggressively, backed up by an enhanced serve.

He recovered from a disadvantage in the opening set against the difficult Frenchman, winning four of the last five games to go ahead.

The competitors exchanged service breaks in the middle set before the challenger, bidding for his first tour championship, seized the initiative to create a final set.

Moutet rescued 4 early opportunities in a tight final set before Medvedev won the break to fifteen to secure the win.

Appropriately, he earned the win with a rally at the net area, with Moutet unable to control a shot after over two and a half hours.
