I will stamp all over 'legitimate combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua
The British boxer will face the American YouTuber in an eight-bout fight which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.
Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to publicize the upcoming bout.
Ex two-time unified title holder Anthony Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami's venue on December 19th.
Fighter's Attitude
"I will injure his face and damage his physique. I'm here to prove my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, said.
"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.
"I'm going to seriously aim to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."
Civil Exchange
In spite of these statements, a composed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually known for his dramatics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.
Paul instead criticized ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian turned down a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Fury
Joshua, at the same time, took aim at British rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] outshines Fury - he showed up," the boxer stated.
"I respect him for that."
Serious Opponent
In spite of saying he intends to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua refused to speak negatively about his opponent's boxing ability.
"Jake is a serious fighter," he said.
Paul's Background
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mainly fought mixed martial artists or faded names since turning professional.
He lost to Briton Fury in last year.
Commercial Attraction
However, the relative newcomer is still one of boxing's biggest financial successes, regularly earning massive paydays.
Prediction and Belief
The 28-year-old forecast a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would derail the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly under discussion for two years from now.
"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul said.
Physical Difference
As the two fighters engaged in the usual stare-down, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it highlighted just how improbable this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the match is actually proceeding.
